LilPebs : A rock collecting website for kids 🪨
Kids love collecting rocks. My kid is no exception, there are rocks in every pocket, under the bed, and sometimes in the washing machine.
So we built LilPebs. It's a website where kids can photograph their rocks, get them identified with AI, organize them into collections, and share their finds with other young collectors in a gallery that's safe by default, no comments sections, no DMs, just sticker reactions and moderated posts.
What it does:
Rock ID — snap a photo, learn what it is in seconds (kid-friendly explanations, not geology textbook language)
Enhance Photos — don't stress if the pictures aren't perfect, you can enhance them to look better
Collections & Projects — name your rocks, rate them 1–5 pebbles, organize into albums like "Beach Finds" or "Weird Ones"
Safe Gallery — kids can share their coolest finds. Every post is AI-moderated. Reactions are fun stickers, not typed comments
Parent Dashboard — parents can review activity and manage the account
Badges — earned by doing real things, not spending money
It will be $10/year, but free for now. No ads, no tracking, no data sold. We built it the way we'd want it built for our own kids.
We just launched and would genuinely love feedback, especially from parents with young collectors at home. What's missing? What would make you trust it enough to hand it to your kid?
Thanks for looking.
