Made a clipboard history app for Windows because Win+V kept losing my stuff

by•

So this started out of pure annoyance. I'd copy something, copy two more things, and the first one was gone. Win+V helps a bit, but it only holds 25 items and wipes them when you restart.

I've spent the last few months building my own. It's called CopyNHoard, works on Windows 10 and 11, and it just keeps everything. Text, code, links, files, screenshots, colors. It sorts them by type so you're not scrolling one giant list.

How I actually use it: Ctrl+Alt+V pops it up over whatever app I'm in, I type a couple of letters, hit Enter and it pastes right there.

Search doesn't care if I misspell things, and it can find words inside screenshots too, which turned out to be the bit I use most.

Two other things I added because I needed them. You can pick 4 clips and paste them in order, one per Ctrl+V, so filling a sign-up form takes 4 keystrokes. And it skips passwords, API keys and card numbers on purpose, they never get saved.

Everything lives on your PC. There's no account and nothing goes to a cloud. The only time it touches the internet is to grab link titles and site icons, and there's a switch in settings to turn that off too.

It's going on the Microsoft Store soon. Short demo video is attached. If you want a heads up when it's out, the waitlist is at

Honest question for you all: what are you using for clipboard history right now, and what would it take to get you to switch? I'm one person building this, so feedback goes straight into the next version.
