Rentgen v2 is out: deeper AI testing, OpenAPI import, and a redesigned UI
Hey everyone! We’ve released Rentgen v2.0.0 🚀
Rentgen tests your API from a single cURL: map your fields, click run, and get validation, boundary, security, authentication, and performance checks. Core testing runs locally and is free.
What’s new in v2:
🧠 Deeper AI Testing — get a summary of your results, prioritised findings, and additional executable tests based on gaps in existing coverage. No prompts to write. Connect OpenAI, Anthropic, or local Ollama.
📦 OpenAPI import — turn an OpenAPI JSON file or URL into a collection of endpoint requests.
🗂️ Redesigned UI — a compact layout with test suites organised into tabs.
🔧 Improved field mapping, configuration persistence, and plenty of bug fixes.
Rentgen has no backend collecting your requests or reports. AI connects directly to your chosen provider.
Core testing remains free. The optional AI integration is $3/month, with your own model connection and separate provider usage costs.

What’s the first API you’d put it through?
