🚀 Road to 1,000,000 #Votap users — Day 14 | Current: 122

Nobody cares about what your app does (at least not at first) ‼️
As a developer, I used to think marketing an app meant explaining:
what it does, how it works, all the features, the mechanics…
That’s wrong.
People don’t scroll social media looking for functionality.
They scroll for emotion, frustration, relief, curiosity.
Ads aren’t the place to explain your app.
They’re the place to interrupt the scroll.
What matters first isn’t:
“you can vote on politicians”
or
“here’s how the system works”
What matters is:
What problem does this touch?
What frustration does it reflect?
Why should I care right now?
Only after you earn attention can you explain the details.
And honestly — this has been one of the hardest mindset shifts for me while building Votap.
I want to show all the cool things inside the app…
but first, people need a reason to even look.

I needed to read this today. I keep wanting people to "understand" my product but you're right, nobody's looking for explanations while scrolling. They're looking to feel seen. Big mindset shift and you explained it perfectly.
