We built our own AI model with a brain, heart and really good memory - meet Hito

by

Hey everyone!

We just launched Hito - a free AI assistant with memory, built on our own reasoning architecture.

Why we built it:

We were tired of AI that forgets everything the moment you close the tab. Explain your job, your preferences, your context - and the next day? Gone. Start over.

What makes it different:

  • Our own state-of-the-art reasoning models using cognitive nested reasoning

  • Persistent memory - it actually remembers you across conversations

  • Real-time web search

  • Your data stays yours - delete it anytime, no retention

  • Open source weights (Safetensors + GGUF)

  • Free forever

The approach:

We didn't want to wrap existing APIs. We built our own architecture from scratch focused on layered, human-like reasoning. The hardest part was making memory feel helpful, not invasive.

Would love your feedback - what would make this your daily AI assistant?
