Why do small businesses still copy invoice data in 2026?

I’ve spoken to 12 small businesses this month.
9 of them still manually copy invoice totals into spreadsheets.

Not because they like it.
Because automation tools feel too complex or overkill.

Why is invoice automation still built for accountants instead of builders and landlords?
