What do you think about getting your daily news as a 2-minute WhatsApp audio?

by•

Hey everyone 👋

We’re building Snipn, an AI-powered WhatsApp experience that sends you a short 2-minute audio news update every morning. It’s simple, human-sounding, and available in 100+ languages across 50+ countries.

The idea came from how cluttered and noisy news apps have become. We wanted something calm, fast, and truly useful — the kind of update you can actually finish before your coffee.

You can listen to a sample on our website before subscribing, and we’d love to hear your thoughts.

It is a good idea! Actually, it also hard to meet different user's needs, and focusing on few specific themes maybe more attractive for your target audience. Best wishes!

@jerryxu0815 Thanks, Xu! Totally agree, tailoring for different audiences can get tricky. We’re starting with a few key themes users care about most and then expanding gradually. Appreciate the thoughtful feedback!

Really like the simplicity here. For busy mornings or people who avoid news apps, this is a smart alternative. Curious to see how we get personalization for news, not everything might be useful for me and its hard to jam things under 2 mins.

@sanskarix Appreciate that, Sanskar! 😊 We keep each update crisp and relevant by picking only the most important global and local stories so even within 2 minutes, you get real value without filler. Personalized topics are also coming soon through our app for an even sharper feed.

@sanskarix Also, our existing users are loving the simplicity. It feels like we’re curating everything that’s happening, and they’re staying fully updated in just 2 minutes. You should give it a try and let us know your thoughts on the daily curated news.

I don't know much about the monetizable market for this but gut tells me that people that pay for news would rather have the detail than the brevity. If I were you I would find out what people are currently paying for and why. Unfortunately not all good ideas make good companies :)

@aliderregia Fair point, detailed coverage definitely has its own value. We actually spoke to two groups: people who read the news regularly but still end up missing a lot because of time, and those who don’t follow news at all. For both, getting short, clear summaries directly on WhatsApp felt like a real value add. That said, this is just our starting point and we definitely plan to go deeper through the app in the future.
