I like the new design so far, it reminds me of Instagram and TikTok, not surprised they are leaning heavily into both imagery and vertical video. New updates include: - Music, Podcasts & Shows, and Audiobook previews on Home. - New feeds for discovery in Search. - DJ - Smart Shuffle - Autoplay for Podcasts

I've been watching Spotify closely and really love these updates β€” in particular, my Spotify AI DJ is a new experience that I keep coming back to and feels extremely additive. I'm less sure about the discovery feed β€” as in, "in what modality would I choose to spend time surfing such a feed?", but I really like the design and how they wove together aspects of stories and videos into a new kind of media unit. Compared with where it started, I really like where it ended up.

The only feature I really care about is whether or not I can hide all the podcasts and books they're constantly pushing.

@jonjones But podcasts are so great, and don’t get me started on books. You really have to try it! πŸ˜‰

The discovery through tagging is really interesting. I feel like that is the unsung feature from this release for me.

I see what they are doing, but I believe I would stick to using Spotify for what it's all about - ultimately music. Instagram already tried to copy everything TikTok did, only to go back to having a focus on 'images' again cause they realised that's their strong point.
