Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I’m the solo developer behind StarFlicks. I built this project to solve my own frustration. I used CineTrak for years until they started imposing limits on lists. I also tried other popular trackers (TV Time, Letterboxd, IMDb), but for one reason or another, I couldn't find the perfect app for my needs. So, I decided to build it myself and make it completely public and free. I've been working on this for about a year as a side project. Building out a full architecture with Django, Next.js, and Expo, all containerized with Docker for maximum performance, was a great challenge, and I’m thrilled to finally share this alternative with the community. Currently, StarFlicks is available on Desktop Web and Android. The iOS app is actually fully developed, but since this is a 100% free, zero-profit project, I've decided to hold off on the $99/year Apple Developer fee for now. However, I’ll be releasing a fully optimized PWA very soon for iPhone users! I’d absolutely love to hear your feedback on the UI, the features, or the tech stack.
