As a developer, I'd like to pretend that most of my "hands on keyboard" time is spent being productive. But who am I kidding? I end up doomscrolling just like so many of us do. As a father, it's hard not to look at the world my kids are growing up in with fear and cynicism.
But then it hit me - if we are makers, we can make the things we wish existed. So I built a simple experiment. The Daily Gratitude Drop serves 5 curated gratitude stories each day. No ads, no drama, just anonymous people sharing genuine moments of thankfulness for things big and small. A small building block to build a brighter, more positive day.
It's totally bootstrapped and currently running on free resources (Next.js and TypeScript on Vercel with Cloudflare workers). I review every submission by hand to maintain authenticity (you might say I'm optimizing for quality over scalability, for now). Takes one minute to read, and hopefully improves your day.
Still figuring out where this goes and how it grows. Early response has been positive, people seem to get the "antidote to negativity" idea. Would love your feedback on making gratitude actually contagious online.
