Hi Product Hunt! 👋 I built The Day You Arrived as a solo side project over a couple of weekends. The idea came from wanting a birthday gift that felt personal without being generic. How it works: You enter a name, a date, and optionally some personal details (where they grew up, family stuff, anything that makes them them). The site generates a page with an AI-written narrative about what the world was like on that day — the #1 song, who was in charge, what things cost, what was on at the cinema — all woven into a story addressed to them. Each page gets a unique URL you can share on WhatsApp or social media. It's meant as a gift you can send in 30 seconds. The tech: Next.js 14, Vercel, Stripe, and Claude API for the narrative generation. The narrative quality is the whole bet — there are plenty of "what happened on your birthday" sites, but they're all just fact lists or PDFs. This writes an actual story.
