Tolop - Browse 120+ AI tools by how long their free tier lasts

by
Most AI tools claim to be free but cut you off after 3 days of real use. Tolop tracks exactly when that happens, light, moderate, and heavy use, so developers and builders know what they're actually getting before they commit.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built Tolop after hitting the same wall too many times, a tool says "free," you spend two hours setting it up, and three days later you're locked out. So I started keeping notes. Then turned the notes into a proper dataset. Then built it into a browsable library. What Tolop actually does: Every tool gets rated on free tier generosity, powerfulness, usefulness, and user feedback. But the most important part is the exhaustion estimate, how long until you hit the wall under light use, moderate use, and heavy use. Because "free" means something completely different across 120+ tools. A few things I found while building the dataset: Several tools marketed as "free" require your own API key, meaning you're paying Anthropic or OpenAI anyway, it's just a free wrapper The gap between the most and least generous free tiers is enormous The self-hosted category is massively underrated if you're willing to put in setup time The UI is a bookshelf, every tool is a book on a shelf organised by category. I wanted it to feel like discovery rather than a spreadsheet. No signup required. No email. Just browse. Happy to answer any questions about how I scored things, and genuinely open to corrections if a rating looks wrong. The data has an "as of" date on every entry so it's a living document.
