TrackingLanguages.com is a browser extension that tracks your comprehensible input on YouTube across languages like Spanish, French, Japanese, and many others. Set daily goals, track watch time, and stay motivated with learning insights.
I think this is kinda useful, I am just thinking how to make it more interactive, because I could watch Spanish videos for hours without knowing what the person is talking about.
Shouldn't it somehow be connected to educational videos where users repeat phrases at the level 1?
Purely watching a video could be taken as practising at level 10 when you understand vocabulary and phrases.
@busmark_w_nika Hi Nika!
This is a great idea, this could add another dimension to the app, which I may have to follow through with at some point!
But the current idea was to use the “comprehensible input” method, which means users watch native videos at the level they can understand and it will automatically follow that!

I am little concerned about how it works and what all it tracks. But I love how you are solving this problem. Congrats on the launch @ssutll
@lakshya_singh Understandbly, but all the system does is count time down to watching a video in NY our target language. The whole package has to go through google verification before being allowed on the web store, so I can assure you it’s safe.

The ability to track comprehensible input across multiple languages on YouTube with this extension is a game-changer for language learning! For learners who want to focus on specific dialects within a language, does the extension have any plans to offer more granular tracking and learning support?
@malithmcrdev yes, this tool will help you count the hours of comprehensible input you have received and motivate you to watch more content in Dutch. This is how I have learnt Spanish ! Hope it helps you also :)

I found Tracking Languages especially helpful for staying consistent with language learning—being able to track my YouTube input across multiple languages like Japanese and Spanish gave me real motivation.
Nice idea!! I would love if it also tracked if subtitles are activated and in which language.

Combining language learning with video watching is a brilliant idea! As someone who loves both languages and videos, I find this method extremely helpful. Since I’m currently studying Italian, I believe this approach will be highly effective for me.

Idea: Maybe recommending videos with a certain level of the language could help users to improve continually.
