Place Labels are here ✨
Now you can highlight the places you’ve visited right on your animated map, helping every route feel clearer, more personal, and easier to follow.
With the new Place Label Customiser, you can choose from 6 thoughtfully designed styles, explore 7 colors to match your mood, and decide how labels appear with Current, Visited, or Always-on modes. Edit or remove them anytime.
Tell your journey your way 🚀
I sometimes saw reels in the past with this car riding around and I always wondered what app that would be. Finally found it out lol it's TravelAnimator. Cool project
Place Labels seem aimed at solving the ‘viewers get lost’ problem—how did you decide on the label modes (Current/Visited/Always) and style constraints, and what tradeoffs did you make between full design freedom and keeping results consistently legible?
@curiouskitty This was a user-demanded feature that was just waiting to be executed.
As for the constraints and trade-offs, to be honest, we didn't think much about them.

The Place Labels feature is such a thoughtful touch — it transforms a Google Maps path into something personal that you actually want to share. Congrats on the launch, building for travelers who care about the journey not just the destination is a great space to be in!

this is genuinely cool — the label customization detail is what gets methe label customization is such a thoughtful detail — most mapping apps give you one style and call it done

@angell019 Exciting! Do labels become animation primitives internally? Can label sequencing affect how the journey is revealed?

Hi Angel - love the flexibility with 1:1, 9:16, and 16:9 exports. That makes it much easier to plug TravelAnimator into real social workflows without extra editing.
Nice to see you thinking about creators using tools like CapCut too.

I would wish to have this in some apps like CapCut or so. Or the option to export it for videos in landscape or portrait. Do you have it like that?
TravelAnimator
@busmark_w_nika Yes you could export videos in 1:1, 9:16 or 16:9 aspect ratios.
