You can only understand the extent of climate emergency if you
- Know what CO2 PPM you were born at
- How much it has increased
- How little carbon budget we have left
Inspired by Greta Thunberg, who added "Born at 375 ppm" to her Twitter bio, we want everyone to see what CO2 PPM they were born at.
Most of us know that CO2 is increasing, but few people have a sense of how fast it is increasing. We want to bring the extend of the change to more people's notice.
This is a great product with a very nice idea.
I would like to recommend adding more historical data in the "Did you know" section. Atmospheric CO2 levels were cycling between 160 to 300 ppm for the past 800 000 years but now dramatically increasing in a very short time, for about 150 years or so. I think comparing the current and date of birth atmospheric CO2 levels to the ones eg. 300 years ago, 1000 years ago etc. would show how fast CO2 levels are increasing. This can be done with something like "When Julius Caesar was assassinated atmospheric CO2 was 270ppm".
You mentioned you couldn't find data for before 1959 but there are estimations for historic data. There is some info on wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ca...

Why not to test it well? Just pick 1900 year to get NaN
@vladislav_bezenson_inferusvv_ Sorry, we only added support for years 1959+, we couldn't find data before that year.
We will show a message for years before that. Any other feedback?

Could you please add the data source so we know these are not made up numbers?
