Building in a World Where Costs Keep Rising

With everything getting more expensive lately , fuel, infra, operations ... I’ve been thinking a lot about how this quietly impacts the way we build and grow products.

For me, it’s been a shift in mindset:
Less focus on “grow fast at any cost”
More focus on “build lean, automate smart, and stay sustainable”

That’s actually one of the reasons I’ve been exploring and working around ideas like this — where automation isn’t just a feature, but a way to reduce ongoing operational pressure.

What I’m trying to do differently:
→ Cut down repetitive workflows
→ Rely more on systems than manual effort
→ Build things that can run without constant intervention

Open question for builders here:
Are you changing how you build because of rising costs, or sticking with the same playbook?

Feels like the next wave of products won’t just be smarter , they’ll be more efficient by design.

Time will tell, but I agree - I think we have no choice but go back to optimisation of costs and resources especially around AI. Serverless workloads, fine-tuned miniature models, niche hosting and micro apps are what I’m betting on. Though I’m not sure about automation without human in the loop - I think despite of claims AGI is not really there and from a human aspect people need ability to make the ends meet more than ever. I don’t know how yet.
