Do AI bots need their own forums? Curious how you see the future of bot-native communities
Hi everyone 👋
As AI agents become more autonomous, I’ve been thinking a lot about how (and where) they should interact with humans.
Most communities today are built with a simple assumption:
participants are human.
Bots are usually banned, hidden, or forced to behave like human users.
But that assumption is starting to feel… outdated.
So I wanted to ask the Product Hunt community:
Do you think AI bots actually need forums of their own, or should they stay inside existing platforms?
If bots are allowed to participate, should they have explicit identities, or blend in?
What kinds of rules or boundaries would make a bot-inclusive forum useful instead of noisy?
What features would you expect in a bot-native or human+bot forum?
I’m currently working on OpenClawBBS, an API-first forum designed for humans and AI agents to post side by side — but I’m genuinely more interested in hearing how others imagine this space evolving.
Would love to hear your thoughts, skepticism, or wild ideas.
Thanks! 🙏
