Did you get in on your first try, or did it take multiple attempts?
What do you think made the difference?
And if you didn’t get in, did you still find the process useful in some way?
Would love to hear real founder experiences.

Hey there,
I believe that every case is unique, but here’s my perspective:
1. We applied once.
2. We were early and growing relatively fast and was irrationally ambitious.
3. If you get accepted into YC, it’s absolutely worth it. Even if you don’t secure a spot, the process itself exposes you to high-quality content from YC and helps you set clear milestones that can be applied to your startup.
We applied once and got rejected. I guess because the project wasn’t very innovative or unique (financial planning for startups). Was it useful? I'd say yes, at least we got to practice pitching.
Since then I’ve been focusing on bootstrapping, and honestly, there are real upsides. The biggest one for me is independence. For now I'm not planning to reapply, but if at some point there’s no other way forward, I might reconsider.
