👋 Hi Product Hunt! I’m Vlad — 15 Years Making Windows Apps, Sharing FTPie, TabChart & New Tools

by•

👋 Hi Product Hunt! I’m Vlad — a Windows desktop developer with ~15 years of experience.

I’ve spent most of my career building native desktop apps because I genuinely love the feeling of creating fast, practical software that people actually use every day.

My main project is FTPie — a paid app (with a free version available) that I’m trying to turn into a sustainable indie business. It’s my long-term focus and the project I’m continuously grinding on.

Along the way, I realized that many internal tools and components I built for FTPie could become useful standalone products. That’s how my second project was born:

📈 TabChart — a completely free crypto multi-charting app for traders who want powerful charts without clutter or subscriptions.

I also have another app coming soon, and my plan for 2026 is simple:
keep improving FTPie while releasing several focused desktop tools built from the ecosystem I’ve been developing.

No AI hype.
No trendy buzzwords.
Just solid Windows apps solving real problems.

If you’re curious about current or upcoming projects, feel free to follow me — I plan to be active here on PH, share progress, lessons from indie development, and future launches.

Happy to meet everyone here 🙌

Hey Vlad! Welcome to PH 🙌

Love the mindset, especially the "no hype just solid apps" - great to meet another systems-focused builder here. Desktop software doesn't get enough love these days, but performance and reliability still matter a lot for power users.

I took a quick look at FTPie and it looks smooth. I'd be curious how you're thinking about scope long term. Staying focused on a few core differentiators can sometimes be a superpower in the desktop space.

What's been the hardest part of turning FTPie into a sustainable indie business so far?

TabChart looks interesting too, I'm exploring desktop analytics tools for infra myself, so this is great inspo. ✨

@minhajulll Hi Mj, thank you for the comment!

Desktop software doesn't get enough credits these days that's very true! In my case I was grinding WPF / Windows development for a very long time and over time developed my personal stack that allows to build / ship windows apps fast. So that's where the idea of satellite projects came from. I just thought why not build something cool in a short time, especially when a lot of things can be re-used from FTPie. I am planning to release a new app in next 3 weeks. It's 80% done.

The hardest part is definitelly distribution and outreach :)

Do you build apps too?

@vlad_fedoniuk Yes I'm currently in the process of finalising my first app. It's been a struggle haha! But will keep you posted. Good luck on your launch, I'll defo support you when it does launch!
