How are you handling animated mascots in your apps right now?

Building apps for years and the mascot problem never got easier. You want something animated for onboarding, loading states, empty screens but the options are always the same: hire someone, learn Rive, or grab something generic from LottieFiles that looks like every other app.

I ended up building Motchi to solve this for myself. Describe a character, get Lottie and WebP files back. But curious what others are doing.

Are you using stock Lottie files? Hiring animators? Just skipping mascots entirely because it's too much effort?

What would make this easier for your workflow?
