How BlogBowl generates articles (in depth) ✍️

Hey everyone 👋

A lot of people asked me during my recent interview how exactly BlogBowl generates articles - so I thought I’d break it down step by step.

👉 Spoiler: it’s not a one-prompt “write me an article” kind of thing.

Each post goes through 50+ calls and uses roughly 1M tokens - it’s a full research and writing workflow, not just text generation.

Step 1: Understanding your site 🌐

Before writing anything, we analyze your website - and help you define your keywords and categories.
After initial analysis of your web, we move on to topic generation.

There are three main types of posts we generate:

  • 🧾 Listicles – e.g. Top 10 best blogging platforms

  • ⚖️ Comparisons – e.g. BlogBowl vs Blogger: Which one to choose?

  • 📘 Guides – e.g. How to write a blog for your SaaS

AI suggests around 20 ideas to start with, but I always say: AI should assist, not replace you.
We encourage users to research competitors and build a list of 50–100 potential topics.

Step 2: Research & analysis 🔍

When you click “Generate Now”, the real work begins.

Here’s what happens behind the scenes:

  1. Find top-ranking articles for your keyword on Google.
→ You can’t write a strong post without knowing what’s already ranking.

  2. Analyze 5-10 of those articles in depth - structure, content type, tone, media.

  3. Build an optimized outline - we decide which sections, subsections, and media should be included (images, videos, stats, citations, tables, etc.).

Step 3: Writing process ✍️

After the structure is ready, AI begins writing section by section, making sure each part adds real value and depth.

Then it:

  • 🖼️ Adds relevant images and screenshots

  • 📊 Finds statistics and citations with sources

  • 🎥 Suggests YouTube videos for embedding

  • 📑 Generates tables for quick summaries

The result: a 2,000–3,000 word SEO-optimized article that’s ready to rank in Google and even pop up in LLMs chats.

Step 4: Technical optimization ⚙️

Even the best article won’t rank without solid technical SEO.
That’s why BlogBowl comes with plug-and-play templates - optimized page structure, schema, and rich results are already built in.

You focus on your business - we handle the setup and content.

That’s the behind-the-scenes look at how BlogBowl makes the magic happen ✨

If you have any questions (or ideas for improving the system), I’d love to hear them!

Tell something about restrictions, what topics BlogBowl won't generate due to any policy?

Daniil Poletaev

@je_suis_yaroslav Honestly, I haven’t run into any restrictions myself - but I’d assume BlogBowl won’t generate quality content that goes against ethical or legal guidelines. So things like scams, fake news, or anything harmful or misleading are definitely a no-go.
