How do you learn topics outside your expertise? (without drowning in jargon)

by

When you need to learn something outside your domain—a developer understanding legal contracts, a marketer diving into technical docs, a founder reading medical research—how do you approach it?

Cognitive load research suggests we learn best when content matches our current knowledge level. Experts actually do this naturally—they find accessible entry points first, then level up.

But most online content doesn't offer that flexibility.

Curious:

1. What's your process for learning unfamiliar topics?

2. Any tools you use to make dense content more accessible?

3. Do you just power through, or do you look for "beginner" versions first?

Working on something in this space. Want to understand how others solve it.
