How do you make personalized children's books feel authentic?
Hi Product Hunt! 👋
I'm Oleg, and I'm launching Mematime on Wednesday (Feb 18).
The problem I'm solving:
Traditional "personalized" children's books just slap your child's name on a generic template. The illustrations barely look like your child - they're just cartoon characters.
What we built:
Mematime uses AI to create beautiful illustrations that actually capture your child's likeness. Upload a photo, get a free preview in ~2 minutes, then order a professionally printed book.
The hardest part:
Getting the AI to consistently render a recognizable child across 20+ pages of a storybook. Generic AI generators produce random-looking results. We spent months training our system to maintain facial consistency throughout the entire book.
What I'm curious about:
- Parents: What would make you trust a personalized book service?
- Makers: How do you balance "try before you buy" with production costs?
- Anyone: What stories would you want for your kids?
We're launching Wednesday at midnight PST. Would love early feedback!
