I built an app with no AI, no algorithms, no feeds. Am I insane?

Everyone's racing to build AI products. I went the opposite direction.

Frikt is an app where people post their daily frustrations in one sentence. Others say "same." Patterns emerge. That's it.

No AI summarizing your problems. No algorithm deciding what's relevant. No infinite scroll. Just raw, real frustration — posted by real people, every day.

👉 frikt (iOS & Android)

I built it because I kept seeing the same cycle: founders building solutions nobody asked for, then scrambling to find the problem after. Frikt flips that. The problems come first, organically, from people who don't even know they're doing market research.

But here's the question I genuinely want to debate:

Is "no AI" a feature or a mistake in 2026?

  • Are we so conditioned to expect AI that a simple, human-first app feels broken?

  • Or is there something powerful about a space where nothing is filtered, ranked, or generated?

What would make you post your daily frustration on an app like this or what would stop you?

P.S: If you're a founder who's ever built something nobody wanted, Frikt might be the tool you wish existed before you started.
