I built this for someone I was saying goodbye to
Not just a friend but someone I shared a deep chapter with. As our paths were about to diverge, I wanted to leave something behind. Not a text or a gift card. Something real and something human.
So I sat down and recorded a series of voice notes, little memories, silly moments, wishes for her future. I wrapped them in a digital board, like a gift, and made it easy for her to open, one note at a time.
She cried when she heard it. So did I, I'll never forget it.
And that’s when I thought: maybe this isn’t just for us!
Maybe other people want to do this too: for birthdays, for long-distance love, for grandparents, for friends who moved away.
Maybe people are looking for a way to make voice feel intimate again.
So I turned it into an app: HearYouLater.
It lets you create boards of voice notes, wrap them as a gift, and send them with love.
No AI fakery. No text-to-speech clones. Just your voice & your story.
If you have any thoughts, ideas or feedback, or you’d simply like to share who you’d build a board for, I’d love to hear from you below!
Let voices become memories.
Thanks for being here.
Thomas
