KiloClaw - Frequently asked questions

What is KiloClaw? How does pricing work? Which AI models are available? Where does my data live? Is KiloClaw open-source?

Dropping here everything you want to know about @KiloClaw (launched this week).

What is OpenClaw?

@OpenClaw is a free, open source autonomous AI agent with 200k+ GitHub stars. It runs on your machine and connects to the chat apps you already use — @WhatsApp, @Discord, @Slack, and 50+ more. It can read/write files, run shell commands, control browsers, and execute scheduled tasks.

What is KiloClaw?

@KiloClaw is a fully managed, hosted version of OpenClaw powered by @Kilo Code. It handles the infrastructure, security, updates, and monitoring so you can focus on what your agent actually does - not keeping it alive.

How does pricing work?

You get 7 days of free compute to try KiloClaw risk-free. After that, KiloClaw uses the same credits you already use for Kilo Code. No new billing relationship, no surprise invoices. AI usage is billed at cost with zero markup - same as everything else on the Kilo platform.

Which AI models are available?

All 500+ models available through Kilo Gateway, including @Claude by Anthropic, @OpenAI's GPT, @Gemini, @DeepSeek, @MiniMax, and local models. You can also bring your own API keys and centralize them through the Gateway — no subscription required, just pay for routing. Self-hosted OpenClaw typically locks you to one provider at a time. KiloClaw gives you all of them in one place.

Can I migrate my existing OpenClaw setup?

Yes. The team is building import tools that will let you bring over your existing OpenClaw configuration, memory, and automations. If you've already invested time in setting up your agent, that work isn't wasted.

Where does my data live?

Your agent's data is encrypted at rest and in transit. KiloClaw doesn't train on your data, doesn't sell your data, and you can export or delete everything at any time. Enterprise customers get dedicated instances with custom data residency options.

Is KiloClaw open-source?

@OpenClaw itself remains fully open source (Apache 2.0). @KiloClaw is a managed hosting service built on top of it — think of it like @GitHub is to Git, or @Vercel is to Next.js. You always have the option to self-host if you prefer.

Congratulations to the team for the launch! This is a really good one.

A very good tool for non-tech or beginners to do tasks using AI. I have seen a lot of folks exposing their private keys and info when they try to set a few things on their own.

Kudos team!
