Kinsly - The simple, all-in-one CRM for freelancers

byβ€’

Hi everyone, Sergey here! πŸ‘‹

For over a decade, I've been a software engineer building complex corporate systems. But I always saw my freelance friends (photographers, designers, writers) struggling to manage their business with a chaotic mess of spreadsheets, note apps, and invoicing tools.

Existing CRMs are bloated, expensive, and built for sales teams, not creators.

I am building Kinsly to fix that. It's a "solo-first" CRM designed to be the simple, all-in-one command center for your entire freelance business. My mission is to help you spend less time on admin and more time on your craft.

I just launched on Kickstarter to fund our initial server costs and build a founding community of users who will help shape the product.

I'm here all day to answer every single question. What's the biggest pain point in your freelance workflow right now?

Best of luck on your fundraising! Do you plan on running your own servers? If not, you may not need to much money to start. I've found AWS to be very flexible when it comes to starting small, scaling horizontally, auto scaling, and load balancing. We just launched our app and have the hosting ready to scale quickly if needed, but we're keeping our initial costs low until we need it. Hopefully that helps!

@rsanchezΒ Thank you for your attention and advice. As a developer and founder, I do everything myself, and I've already described the technical aspects of setting up the server in this article. You're absolutely right that you can start with a fairly cheap server, which is what I did. My Kickstarter campaign has a detailed description of how the funds will be spent; a very large portion will go towards taxes, fees, and marketing. Also, the Kickstarter campaign is largely aimed at attracting the first potential users.
