Olettra

Launching on December 1st, Who Am I?

by

I built Olettra because of a moment I’ll never forget.

In June 2025, I was in Army basic training. Mail day had just ended, and my battle buddy read a letter from his fiancée telling him their daughter had taken her very first steps.

A few days later — Sunday phone call day — he finally got to speak with them. In the background, he heard his baby’s tiny voice, and then his fiancée said, “She’s walking again!” He was thrilled… but reception was terrible. No FaceTime. No video. Nothing.

She told him the Ring camera had captured the moment and that she sent it to everyone — family, friends, Facebook. Everyone but him. I watched him fight to stay strong, but I could see it: he was crushed. He would have given anything to see those first steps, too.

That’s when the idea hit me.

What if there was a way to turn short videos into something physical — something you could actually hold — so people in remote places (basic training, deployment, incarceration, nursing homes, or anyone who’s offline) could relive the moments that matter?

That’s why I built Olettra.

We take your letter and a 10-second video, turn the video into a real flipbook, pair it with your message, and mail it anywhere in the U.S. or Canada.
