Rebuilt our team management tool from scratch - what did we miss?

by•

Hey Product Hunt community! 👋

We're getting ready to launch Asa v2 soon and honestly, we're both excited and a bit nervous. This has been a massive rebuild from our first version, and we'd love to get some early thoughts from this amazing community.

A bit of context: After our first launch, we realized we were solving only part of the problem. Teams weren't just looking for time tracking - they needed something that actually helped with the messy, human side of remote work. The mood swings, the disconnection, the chaos of managing tasks across different tools.

So we went back to the drawing board:

- Rebuilt the entire dashboard (the old one was... not great 😅)

- Added proper Kanban boards because sticky notes on Zoom calls aren't sustainable

- Enhanced our mood tracking - turns out people wanted more than just "good" or "bad"

- Built AI workflows that actually do useful stuff (not just buzzword AI)

Here's where we could use your wisdom:

1. What's the biggest pain point with your current team management setup? We're curious if we're missing something obvious.

2. Mental wellbeing tracking - is this something you'd actually use with your team, or does it feel too intrusive?

3. AI automation - what would you want it to do for you? We have some ideas but want to make sure we're not building in a vacuum.

We're not here to sell anything (launch isn't even live yet!), just genuinely curious about what would make your team management life easier.

What do you think? Are we heading in the right direction, or completely missing the mark?

Looking forward to the discussion! 🤔

P.S. - If you're interested in following along, we'll be launching next week. But no pressure - just appreciate the feedback either way!

Hi Julian!

I've learned that AI helps when it shortens the path to a decision. Not when it adds another surface to manage.

What is the smallest useful loop in Asa v2 that takes a manager from signal to action in under 5 minutes?

Good luck with the launch!

Great question! You've hit on exactly what we learned from v1 - AI that creates more work isn't helpful AI.

The smallest useful loop in Asa v2:

Signal → Action in under 3 minutes:

Signal detected (30 seconds): Team member clocks in, enhanced wellbeing card captures low energy (2/5), high stress (4/5), negative mood

Wellness detection insight (instant): System automatically flags this for manager review - appears as priority alert in manager dashboard

Manager reviews flag (1 minute): Sees "Sarah flagged - stress levels concerning, energy dropping" with context from previous days

Action taken (1 minute): Manager reaches out directly to Sarah for a quick check-in or adjusts her workload

Separate feature - AI Workflows with Taskboard Manager:

Manager can then say: "Move Sarah's presentation task to Alex" → Natural language AI workflow processes this, identifies the right task and team member, makes the assignment automatically.

Total loop: Wellness detection surfaces the human insight, manager makes the call, AI workflows execute the admin work through natural language.

The beauty is these are two distinct tools - wellness flagging focuses purely on human wellbeing signals, while AI workflows handle the task execution piece when managers decide to act.

No complex integrations, just two focused features that work independently but complement each other perfectly.
