Seeking advice on boosting exposure for our new startup product
Hello everyone!
I’m one of the co-founders of a startup that just launched our new product: https://www.producthunt.com/products/badcat-ai?launch=badcat-ai
While we’re excited about what we’ve created, we’re still in the early stages and haven't gained many users yet. Given our limited budget, we’re looking for effective channels to increase our exposure beyond Product Hunt.
So far, we’ve considered options like influencer marketing and digital advertising, but we’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
Here are a few specific questions:
Influencer Marketing: What are some strategies or platforms you recommend for partnering with influencers in a cost-effective way?
Social Media: Which social media platforms have worked best for you in terms of organic reach and engagement?
Content Marketing: How important has content marketing been for your startup? What types of content do you find resonate best with your audience?
Other Channels: Are there any other platforms or strategies you’d suggest that have proven effective for gaining visibility?
We appreciate any insights or advice you can share. Thank you!

I’d start with organic reach first. it’s slower but way more sustainable long term. I think this product would get more traction in relevant Reddit/Discord communities. Micro-influencers are also a good option, way cheaper and often more engaged than the big names. And if you can turn early user feedback into blog posts or case studies, that doubles as both content and social proof.
@bengeekly Hi Bengeekly, Thanks for the tips!
I’m with you on focusing on organic reach. It might be slower, but it feels more genuine.
I hadn’t thought about Reddit and Discord communities. I’ll definitely check out these communities!
Micro-influencers sound like a great way to go too. Do you have any recommendations for platforms to find them? And turning user feedback into content?
@lancy_qin
Congrats on the launch.
Early traction is tough, and since you are on a lean budget try out LinkedIn and X for organic reach, it work for founders AI niches. Start off on valuable content compounds (Short “problem/solution” videos, case studies, and practical contents to establish trust). Leverage on testimonies of your early users, and stay consistent.
@egbo_patience Hi Egbo, thanks for your congratulations.
Early traction is definitely a tough nut to crack. I will see how LinkedIn and X could work for us. Creating those short videos and case studies is a solid approach. Do you have any examples of content that you think really hit the mark?
@lancy_qin Case studies, and practical videos on how to works, these type of posts resonate most. Ask for feedback from previous users, all you need is a screen-shoot. Wishing you best of luck.
@egbo_patience Thanks for the suggestions! I’ll have a try. Appreciate the encouragement😊
