We built a real-time translation overlay for your entire desktop
Hey PH! 👋
I'm Eduardo. Tomorrow we're launching Seagull, and I wanted to share the story behind it.
My wife and I speak different native languages. We kept running into the same problem: the things we wanted to watch together either had no subtitles, bad subtitles, or no translation at all. Auto-captions? Don't get me started.
So we asked ourselves: what if we could just translate any audio playing on the computer, in real time?
That's what Seagull does. It captures system audio from any app: YouTube, Zoom, podcasts, games, lectures, whatever - and gives you translated subtitles as an overlay on your screen. 60+ languages supported. No browser extensions, no plugins. Just works.
We're launching tomorrow and would love your support! In the meantime, curious to hear from this community:
How do you deal with foreign-language content today?
Do you just skip it? Rely on auto-captions? Have a setup that works for you?
Would love to hear your stories, and if you want to try Seagull early, come hang out on our Discord: https://discord.gg/H4hXRf8jmg
