We're launching PlanShopChop — would love your feedback!
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I’m David, founder of PlanShopChop.
Like a lot of people, I didn’t build this because I wanted another productivity app — I built it because meal planning is weirdly exhausting.
Not cooking.
Not eating.
Just figuring it all out.
What to make.
What you already have.
What you need to buy.
Then juggling recipes across 12 browser tabs while you cook.
So we asked a simple question:
What if meal planning, shopping, and cooking actually felt effortless?
PlanShopChop combines your recipe box, weekly planner, smart shopping list, and a context-aware AI chef into one flow.
A few things people tend to love:
📸 Photo Recipe Import
Snap a photo of anything — cookbook pages, screenshots, handwritten recipes — and the AI turns it into a clean, structured recipe you can actually use.
🧠 Chef (Our AI Cooking Assistant)
Chef isn’t just “chat AI bolted onto a food app.”
It understands your recipes, your meal plan, and your shopping list.
You can say things like:
• “I only have chicken and random vegetables — what can I make?”
• “Make this recipe higher protein”
• “Scale this for 5 people”
• “I already have onions — update my list”
🥕 Smart Shopping Lists
Plan your week → generate a list that consolidates ingredients across meals and organizes everything by grocery aisle.
🍳 Cooking Mode
No scrolling. No hunting for quantities.
Steps are optimized for actually cooking.
We’re still early, which is honestly why I love launching here.
I’d genuinely love to hear:
👉 What’s the most annoying part of meal planning for you?
👉 What have you tried that didn’t stick?
👉 What would make an app like this a “must-keep”?
Thanks for checking us out 🙏
Happy to answer anything — product, AI, tech stack, mistakes, lessons learned.
