What do you think of the maker's first comment?

by

Hey Product Hunters,

I was scrolling through today’s launches and noticed how crucial the maker’s very first comment can be. A clear, thoughtful opener gives us immediate insight into what the product does and why it matters.

Conversely, I’ve seen great products miss out on early traction simply because they didn’t introduce themselves or outline their value in that first reply.

What do you all think? How much does that initial maker comment influence whether you click “👍” or dive deeper into a launch? Have you ever been won over—or turned off—by a founder’s opening response? Would love to hear your experiences!

Sometimes the makers might just miss on providing the base context of the product ie what problem it solves. Since they are deep into their product they forget that the people, whom they are introducing their product to, might not have any context of the problem they are solving. So, very important for makers to step out of their maker shoes and review their first comment
