What motivates you more: tracking yourself or accountability from others?

I've been thinking a lot about how people actually stick to their goals. There seem to be two camps:

  Self-tracking You check in with yourself daily. You see your own progress, your streaks, your patterns. The motivation comes from within. You're accountable to yourself.

  External accountability Someone else checks in on you. A coach, a friend, a team. The motivation comes from not wanting to let others down. You're accountable to someone.

  I'm curious: which actually works better for you?

  Some people thrive with self-discipline they just need the right mirror. Others need that outside push, someone who sees them and holds them to their word.

  Or maybe it's both? Maybe the best system is self-tracking daily + someone who checks in weekly?

  Would love to hear real experiences what's actually kept you on track with your goals?
