What’s your #1 trick to make an old Mac feel snappy again? 💻
by•
We all know that feeling when the UI starts lagging just a tiny bit, or apps take 2 seconds longer to open. 🐌
Most of the time, it's not the processor—it's the disk struggling with thousands of tiny cache files and logs. I built OptiClear to be a 'one-click refresh' for this exact reason.
Aside from cleaning your disk, what’s your go-to trick to bring that "New Mac" speed back? 🚀
A full restart?
PRAM / SMC reset?
Or just finally closing those 50+ Chrome tabs you’ve been ignoring? 😂
Let's share some performance tips! 👇

Honestly? Closing Chrome tabs is the real hidden upgrade 😂Beyond that, a clean startup (disable unnecessary login items) + freeing disk space usually gives the biggest noticeable boost.
OptiClear
@hazel__mathew Haha, totally agree! Closing those tabs is like giving your Mac a deep breath. 😂
You’re spot on about the Login Items too. It’s amazing how many apps think they need to start up the second you turn on your Mac. That 'silent' background activity is a huge resource killer.
That’s exactly why I focused on making the disk cleaning part as fast as possible in OptiClear—if we can’t fix the 50 Chrome tabs habit, we can at least make sure the system isn't choked by junk files! 🧹
Do you use a specific tool to manage your startup items, or do you dive into the System Settings manually?
