Why I built an AI meal planning app — it started with a health condition
Hey PH 👋
We’re launching 360Health AI this Wednesday. Before we do, I wanted to share why this app is personal to me.
The real reason I built this:
I have Crohn’s disease. If you’re not familiar, it’s a chronic condition that affects digestion — certain foods can trigger flare-ups, and managing what I eat isn’t optional. It’s survival.
I spent years trying to figure out what I could eat, what I should avoid, and how to plan meals that wouldn’t wreck me. Most nutrition apps don’t account for people like me. They give you generic plans and assume everyone’s gut works the same.
So I built something better.
360Health AI was designed for people who NEED to manage what they eat:
• Crohn’s, IBS, colitis, celiac, diabetes — we adapt to you
• Set your restrictions once and every meal plan respects them
• AI learns your preferences and avoids trigger foods
• No more guessing. No more flare-ups from bad planning.
But it’s not just for people with health conditions. It’s for anyone who wants to eat smarter without spending hours figuring it out.
What we learned building this:
1. Personalization isn’t a feature — it’s the foundation. Generic meal plans fail people with real dietary needs.
2. Speed matters. Meal plans generate in under 90 seconds. If it takes too long, people give up.
3. Family planning changes everything. Most apps forget people cook for households. We scale portions and grocery lists automatically.
4. Your pantry is underrated. We added a feature that generates recipes from what’s already in your kitchen. Less waste. Less stress.
5. An AI nutritionist on demand. Sometimes you just need quick advice. Our chatbot gives instant tips, substitutions, and answers.
