Building real-time state and checkout webhooks using Gemini and Antigravity with zero CS background

by•

Hey everyone,

I don't come from a formal engineering background, but I've been experimenting with how far pure natural language prompting can push a functional full-stack app.

I recently shipped an interactive daily bidding leaderboard where users displace ranks dynamically, resetting every midnight UTC.

Coming into this without CS fundamentals, frontend UI generation with Gemini was straightforward, but handling the live plumbing was the real challenge:

- Coordinating live bidding state without race conditions

- Listening to Dodo Payments checkout webhooks to update the board automatically

- Managing daily reset triggers reliably

Using Google Antigravity alongside Gemini made it possible to scaffold the backend routes, webhook verification, and state logic entirely through iterative prompting.

For those building complex web apps purely through AI agents: how are you approaching backend state management and payment verification without manually auditing the boilerplate?
