AI Is Making Software Easier to Build. Why Is It Getting Harder to Make Money?

Building software used to mean clearing a technical hurdle first. You needed programming skills or a team to turn an idea into a working product. AI is shortening that process: one person can write code, revise a design, and build a website much faster.

But as ideas become easier to implement, another question becomes harder to answer:

If I can build this product, and others can build it too, why would users choose mine?

Building my recent Chrome extension, X Account Risk Monitor, has given me a concrete way to think about that question.

I’m improving X Account Risk Monitor and looking to feature other tools for X users

Hi everyone, I m the developer of X Account Risk Monitor, a free Chrome extension. I ve been updating it to make your own activity on X easier to review and its reminders more useful.

The extension keeps a local log of actions it can observe on X pages open in your Chrome profile, including posts, replies, follows, unfollows, likes, reposts, and confirmed deletions of your own posts. You can review activity by month or across your full recorded history.

The latest improvements include clearer on-page reminders with the observed evidence behind them, experimental self-checks for similar posts, repeated link-only posts, and follow/unfollow patterns, plus a more useful PDF report and JSON backup. The interface also makes it clearer when each type of activity was last recorded and where gaps in the record may exist.

Everything is stored locally in your Chrome profile. The extension doesn t use the X API or perform actions on your behalf. Its reminders are prompts to review your own activity, not predictions about account restrictions.

X Account Risk Monitor - Review X activity with local logs and behavior reminders

X Account Risk Monitor is a free Chrome extension for reviewing your own X activity. It logs posts, replies, follows, unfollows, likes and reposts observed on X pages you open. When evidence supports it, reminders flag repeated text; experimental checks cover similar posts, link-only posts and follow/unfollow patterns. Each reminder shows observed evidence and relevant public X rules. Records stay in this Chrome profile, with PDF and JSON export. It cannot predict account restrictions.
