We all know what we should do. We just don’t do it. Mom Clock is a strict reminder and app blocker for people who keep negotiating with themselves. No snooze. No “just five more minutes.” No pretending. When it’s time, distractions are blocked and action is forced — like a mom standing behind you, watching. Built for procrastinators who are tired of disappointing themselves.

Mom Clock
Hi Product Hunt 👋
I built Mom Clock because I was tired of lying to myself.
I’d plan my day, set reminders, ignore them, and still feel like I was “trying.”
The problem wasn’t motivation — it was that I kept negotiating with myself.
So I asked: what if a reminder didn’t negotiate?
Mom Clock is a strict reminder and app blocker.
When it’s time, it alarms and blocks distracting apps and forces you to act — no snooze, no “later.”
It's like a strict but caring mom watching you,
making sure you actually do what you promised.
It’s uncomfortable.
A little annoying.
And surprisingly effective.
If this sounds familiar, I’d love to hear what you think.

@justin2025 Quite creative approach! I'd legit get it for myself if it was available for android :(

@bekjon_ibragimov Hey Bekjon, thanks for your support! We plan to begin Android version development in Q2 and will keep you updated.

@justin2025 Justin — love the concept. I came in thinking “this is a clever joke app,” but the caring angle really landed.
As a parent of three, I’m constantly telling my kids “time to study” or “okay, game time’s over”… while I’m over here making excuses for myself and doing whatever I want. Your post was a funny-but-painfully-honest mirror, and it actually made me reflect a bit.
Thanks for creating something that’s strict and kind in its own way. Rooting for you — excited to see where Mom Clock goes.
Mom Clock
@toyamarinyon This means a lot — thank you for sharing that.
That contrast you described (being strict with our kids, gentle with ourselves) is exactly the tension that led to Mom Clock. If it sparked even a small moment of reflection, then it’s already doing its job. Really appreciate the encouragement 🙏
MultiDrive
@justin2025 I'm afraid of your logo :D with this app I will definitely do everything on time. Mom :D
Congrats on your launch!
Mom Clock
@tetianai Mission accomplished then 😄
If the logo scares you just a little… it’s working. Thanks so much for the support!
MultiDrive
@justin2025 It's true :D
Mom Clock
@akaroese Thank you — and that’s an awesome goal to start the year with!
Really appreciate you giving Mom Clock a try. Looking forward to your feedback!

@justin2025 Such a lovely idea. Love the visuals, love the concept—and I can’t stop looking at the ‘mom’ !
Mom Clock
@jojo_li Haha, thank you! 😄 She has a way of staring into your soul a bit — glad you’re enjoying the visuals and the concept!
Won't it be cool if there's a "mom control panel" for this as a mom's side app so you actually get the real mom involved in this?
Mom Clock looks super useful.
How did you decide which features were essential for parents versus optional extras? I’d love to hear the thought process behind it.

@rocsheh Haha, love the “digital tough love” analogy!
Totally get the need for an emergency bypass — we’ve thought about that for those “call from mom” moments!
As for team/group accountability, it’s definitely something we’re exploring for the future — stay tuned! Thanks for the support, and happy New Year!

@rocsheh Glad you love it! Great suggestion for team collaboration func and we definitely aim for it
Hi, first attracted by the name, well done! I am a bit scared of the strict mom but want to really use it for help me focusing on studying. I am trying the app right now, but the "Continue" button is either showing only partially on the screen or not showing, and I am stuck at the "How long should these apps be blocked", the "continue" button(or something similar as continue) is not showing which blocking me to walk through the whole trip. Overall, I like the idea and can't wait to use it. (btw, I am using iPhone SE, if that's helping).

@lea_yi Thank you so much for trying Mom Clock — and for the detailed report!
The “strict mom” can be a bit scary at first but she really is there to help.
Really appreciate you flagging this — that’s definitely not intended behavior. We’ll investigate this UI issue right away and make sure it’s fixed in the next update.
BrandingStudio.ai
The branding is doing a lot of heavy lifting here and it works perfectly. "No nudging. No reminders. Just follow-through." is a great line because it calls out exactly why every other productivity app fails.
As a parent of two young kids, I actually find the Mom angle hilarious and relatable in equal measure. The angry cartoon face is funnier than it has any right to be.
Genuine question though: is there any grace period or is it truly zero tolerance from the first second? Curious how the app handles the moment people inevitably try to negotiate with it the same way they negotiate with themselves. Congrats on the launch! 😂
GNGM
As a developer, it’s rare to build something that intentionally annoys users —
but seeing people say “this finally made me do the thing” made it worth it.
Happy to answer any technical or product questions here 🙂
Mom Clock
@polman_trudo I guess being "annoyed into productivity" is the new motivation! 🤣
