The phoenix mechanic came from that — it's not a streak counter, it's a companion. It weakens when you disappear, but it recovers with you when you return. That subtle difference changes how the whole thing feels emotionally. The other thing I kept running into was privacy. Recovery is deeply personal, and the idea of posting check-ins into a community feed was a dealbreaker for a lot of people I talked to. So Ashrise is local-first by default — no account required to start, no cloud sync forced on you. It's been a long build as a solo founder and I'm genuinely excited to get it in more hands.
