Billbo it's a social network for the room you're standing in. A venue turns any TV into a live "saloon" the room's chat, photo wall, and polls play out on the big screen. And you can't fake your way in: you join by scanning the QR on the TV itself (or being physically at the venue). When you walk in, the screen greets you; a bar rail shows everyone currently in the house.

Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I'm Guy - I've spent the last years building Billbo solo. It started with a simple observation: we've never been more connected, yet in any bar or café people sit right next to each other in silence, each inside their own feed. I don't believe an app can "fix" that - but I kept wondering whether the same screens that pull us apart could give us a small nudge toward each other. Billbo is my attempt at that bridge: 🖥 A venue (bar, café, barbershop, or your own living room) puts BillboTV on any Android TV / Google TV / Fire Stick - or on a spare phone mirrored to a screen. No hardware to buy. 🍺 The TV becomes the room's shared "saloon": a chat everyone in the room sees, a photo wall, live polls - and when you walk in, the screen greets you by name. A small thing, but it turns strangers into "hey, you're on the screen too." 🔑 You join by scanning a QR code that exists only on that screen - so the community is the people actually in the room, not the whole internet. 🎮 And when words feel awkward, games break the ice: Texas Hold'em, trivia duels, air hockey, and a quick-draw duel where you aim by tilting your phone - all on the big screen, phones as controllers. Challenging someone to trivia is a much easier opening line than "hi." The vision isn't more screen time. It's pointing the screens we already stare at back into the room, so they give you a reason to talk to the person next to you. It's completely free. Android today; iOS is on the way. I'm sure there's plenty I've gotten wrong, and I'd genuinely love your feedback - especially if you run a venue: what would it take for you to put this on your TV? honestly the qr thing is kind of genius, no randoms joining from home and spamming the screen. tried it at a bar and the bar rail showing who's actually there was a fun touch.

@wren_miao Thank you very much! Moreover, the saloon owner can configure the saloon settings to determine who can post, do every post need admin approval and if user require GPS location addition to QR to avoid sending the QR, setting members, TV layouts, screensaver and many many many more :)))

Quick update: BillboTV is in the final round of Google's Android TV review right now.

We're working through the last items and expect it on the TV Play Store shortly.

The Billbo mobile app is live in the meantime, and we'll post here the moment the

TV app goes up.

Can technology bring us together instead of isolating us?

We've building in the "together" direction: an app that only really works when you're physically in the room (Billbo - big screen in the venue, quick games and polls that give strangers an excuse to talk). Launching it taught me how deep the assumption runs that social = feed. Even explaining "there is no feed, the room is the network" breaks people's brains a little.

So I'm curious what this community thinks: 1. Has any app ever actually made you more present with the people around you? Which one? 2. Is proximity-based social a real category, or does the phone always win the staring contest? 3. If you could redesign social tech from scratch, what would "together" look like?
