I live in a walk-up apartment and work on the 8th floor. One day I checked Apple Health and was surprised to see I climbed 47 floors that week. But that data was buried deep in the Health app. So I built ClimbUp to surface it — it uses the iPhone barometric sensor to track every flight of stairs automatically. No Apple Watch needed, no setup, no accounts.

Update: ClimbUp now comes with an Apple Watch app! You can track your daily floors, see your goal progress ring, steps, calories, and weekly trends — all from your wrist. Same privacy-first approach: everything stays on your devices, no cloud sync needed. The watch app reads directly from HealthKit so it works independently. Would love to hear if any stair climbers out there find this useful!

Maker update: ClimbUp 2.4 is in Apple review. Preview the refreshed daily and weekly progress screens and saved workout result cards at https://henryarch.github.io/clim... — these are upcoming features; the current App Store version is still 2.3. ClimbUp remains $6.99 in the US, with no subscription. It reads flights climbed recorded in Apple Health, so readings can be delayed or incomplete; automatic stair-machine counting is not supported. What would make your post-climb summary more useful?
