I built crystl because i wanted a way to manage CLI agents like Claude Code without constantly losing track of windows and sessions and project progress. I was tired of hunting through tabs to approve things or answer questions. I wanted everything in a feed. I devised "Crystl Rail" a rail you can doc to left/right/top of your screen. It's a control center where agent notifications.
I'd love to hear about other founder and developer workflows with agents and which tools they like and don't like and why. Also, what would you like t see an agentic terminal do?
crystl is incredible! I don't really have words for how this app has changed how i manage web development and really my whole life. I use it for everything. It's far more than a terminal, far better than anything else I've tried out for managing agents. I love that everything runs local on my machine and that the developers are committed to supporting open models.
I would love a version for linux.
I used both Warp and Cursor, but neither really leaned into orchestration and multi-tasking like crystl. crystl just makes you more productive.
I've been using Crystl to run my local ai development for the past 2 months and it's been a great aid, I feel like it has helped making many of the concepts I had to manually setup for each project or remind my agents to do more easy while providing a better set of tools and predefined prompts for the agents. I really like the anoint feature for triggering an orchestrator agent.
I don't find my self usding the backlog as much as I tought I would use and I find some noise from notifications where I don't really use them right now.
I've felt that just working with claude over many terminal sessions was broken and that it was harder to have visibility on what my different agents where doing and the status of each project. I think crystl brings a simple UI that allows you to stay focused while still bringing many useful tools for productivity.
This app really impressed me. I've had way more success running multiple agents and doing orchestration workflows then I ever had with alacritty, Warp, or Ghostty (which is great, but not for lots of agents). I love how projects and sessions are grouped and the notifications keep me on top of everything. The iPhone app is super well designed. Customer support has been amazing. I also love that everything is stored locally on my machine.
I would love a version for linux.
I tried the alternatives, and it was difficult to keep track of what agents were doing.
