Give your project a place people can walk into. Claim a cubicle, customize your space, and meet the builders next door. Race cars, go fishing, or grab a skateboard when you need a break. A multiplayer metaverse built with GPT-6 Astra. Free to explore in your browser. No download or account needed.
What became possible in your product with Astra that was not practical before?

I solo-built an entire metaverse in four days. Over 6 billion tokens. Very little sleep.
Astra made it possible for me to build all of this together: multiplayer, physics, custom spaces, vehicles, and games inside one shared world.
Astra's biggest unlock was being able to follow my curiosity. I’d think “what if the cars could also be amphibious vehicles?” and ten minutes later, not only could I, but the 3D model and animation that it created blew my mind.
I no longer have to cut the idea down to something I could realistically build. Astra changed what was possible, and I can now truly build the game of my dreams.

Hey Product Hunt, Matt here 👋
The internet is starting to feel like everyone bought a billboard and nobody came to town.
So I’m building the town.
cubicles.lol is a multiplayer world where your website becomes a place people can walk into.
Drop in your website, get a branded cubicle, and make it yours. Check out your neighbors. See what they’re building. Then steal their car. Or challenge them to a typing speed contest.
There are skateboards, boats, and a blimp you can hijack. Scope creep is going great.
It’s free to explore in your browser. No download, no account needed.
Come claim a desk. Or just cause a reasonable amount of chaos.
Would love any and all feedback. Afterall, we're building this together.
p.s. if anybody who thinks they can beat me in the typing speed game, comment here, if you win I'll give you a free cubicle!
@matthewschapiro "everyone bought a billboard and nobody came to town" is a genuinely good way to frame the problem with most landing pages. no download no account is the right call too, that's usually where these multiplayer web experiments lose people before they even see the point. does performance hold up once a bunch of cubicles fill in with real neighbors, or is there a practical ceiling on concurrent visitors before the physics/rendering starts to strain in-browser?

@galdayan thanks for asking - performance definitely starts to strain in the denser areas, especially when you zoom out and more of the world is visible. I don’t have a reliable concurrent-user ceiling to share yet.
This started as my fun side project, and I was hoping we’d get enough people building to create exactly these kinds of busy neighborhoods. Now that we have some traction I'm bringing in the rest of my team for support.
@maxime_zaccarin is helping me tackle performance, and we’ve already started making improvements. We need to test crowded scenes and simultaneous visitors separately to understand the limits. I’m excited to see how far we can push it with a small team and AI.
there's a lot of different things we can do - right now we allow for unlimited objects per cubicle, also there is no height restriction. We wanted to let people be as creative as possible as we figure out which rules to implement to maximize experience + performance.
@matthewschapiro unlimited objects with no height cap is a bold call to lead with while you're still working out the performance ceiling, most builders would've shipped restrictions first and loosened them later. good luck with the crowded-scene testing, curious to see the neighborhoods that come out of it once people actually push the object limits

This is wild and f*cking awesome.
@dshan Yooooo thanks Derek! appreciate the kind words. i'm excited to see where it goes.
i have an idea to give every cubicle owner their own in-game agent to explore the world and network for them. things could get crazy!
very funny idea! really like it!
do u plan to open source it soon?
@luca_ardito thanks Luca!!! My plan is to show everybody how I created it. i'm considering open sourcing it!
@matthewschapiro thanks! i'd really like to see how u made. but also it would be great if u open sourced it too!
