The portfolio/linkfolio space is crowded but there's definitely room for something that focuses on aesthetics and branding. Your biggest challenge right now is probably discovery - people don't wake up searching for "cute portfolio builder."
Here's what worked for me when I was in a similar spot:
1. Find the pain conversations: Search Twitter/Reddit for "linktree ugly", "portfolio builder recommendations", "hate my portfolio site". People complain about existing tools constantly - Linktree gets roasted for being basic, Behance for being cluttered, personal sites for being too complex.
2. Target specific communities: Designers on Twitter, creative freelancers in Facebook groups, Etsy sellers looking for better link pages. Each group has different pain points - designers want something that doesn't look like everyone else's, small business owners want something simple but branded.
3. Content angle: "Why every creative's portfolio looks the same (and how to fix it)" performs well. Show before/after examples of boring vs cute portfolios.
4. Partnership approach: Reach out to design influencers, creative coaches, small business consultants. They're always looking for tools to recommend to their audiences.
The key is finding people who are already frustrated with their current solution, not trying to convince people they need a portfolio in the first place.
