This is such a bad idea. You can't even out power imbalances by having people hand over their data for cash. Here's a thread of links showing why the concept of data ownership is flawed: https://twitter.com/stevenjmesse...

Great initiative @andrewyang. I hope that in the near future personal data is controlled by the individuals who rightfully own it.

The tools developed by Ocean Protocol are exactly what you need. Data sharing in a private manner via compute to data. You just build your apps on top of it. Go make it happen Andrew!

big thanks to Yang and all the supporters. I agree with @kuizinas that this is more complex and needs a comprehensive approach, not just a simple paycheck. but hey its a start!

Good idea, sad that "Access from your Country was disabled by the administrator." From an IP in Hong-Kong.

Not sure this is the way to deal with individual data. While getting money for our data being sold might sound nice, this is not good news on the long term. Identity theft and breach exponentially on the rise means more chances that our data will be compromised on the long run. We should only leave our data where we need it, and use tools like Mine to clean up services we don't need anymore.
