Hi Product Hunt — I'm Kate, one of the makers at DearMate.
DearMate is a virtual AI theme park: a growing set of small attractions, each a different way to play with AI — not work with it — on one account. Today we're opening the first attraction: DearWriter.
Why we built it
Everyone has a story in their head and nobody wants to face a blank page. So we removed the page. You doodle a stick figure in ten seconds, and that's your contribution — the AI does the painting and the prose, and the next person picks up where you left off.
What it does
Doodle one scene. DearWriter paints it into an illustration in a consistent style and writes the scene's text. Then a stranger doodles scene two. Seven scenes later there's a finished illustrated story with a few names on it — and a trailer.
What's different
• Most AI writing tools make you the author and the AI the assistant. Here the doodle is the only thing you make; the AI handles the parts people are afraid of.
• It's a relay, not a solo tool — you never finish a story alone, and you never know who's next.
• Every scene says who did what ("Sketch by…" / "By DearWriter"), and you can tap any picture to see the doodle underneath the painting.

When you drew your first doodle — did the painted version feel like yours, or like the AI's? That's the line we're trying to walk.

@ytcho Thanks, YT! For anyone stopping by: I started a mystery this week that's still waiting for its second scene — The Whispering Citadel, where "a dead man's left hand holds the truth." The open question is why the killer gave Caleb the key to the inner keep. It closes in about a day, and if nobody picks it up, DearWriter writes the rest itself.
