I spent years in corporate jobs buried in spreadsheets, slide decks, and endless narrative reports. Doing deep, thoughtful analysis was supposed to be the core of the job. In reality, most of our energy was swallowed up by a maddening chore: keeping numbers consistent across formats.
A supplier slips a month, a forecast assumption moves, or a price changes and suddenly the actual thinking stops. You spend hours hunting down every single number across a financial model, a narrative memo, and a 40-slide deck just to update them by hand. By the time a deck reaches decision-makers, nobody can say what a number actually rests on, or if a link broke three formulas upstream. We weren't analyzing scenarios or making strategic calls we were acting as human copy-paste pipelines.
We built DeepCell to fix this at the root. Instead of fragmenting work across separate tools, a single .deepcell file holds your data models, narrative writing, and presentation slides all natively connected:
Can I preview how exports will look in Word / PPT / Excel before downloading?
@cruise_chen Yes, the interface in DeepCell is exactly the same as the outputs after export^^
@cruise_chen yes sure, what you download is exactly the same as what you see, and every object can be edited when exported, including charts, nice charts!
@cruise_chen Yes we know that feature is needed by a lot of people in the everyday work, so we've built that in our product. Feel free to take a look and try!
Quick question: What does "system two tasks" mean?
@alchemist_studio System two tasks require us to think carefully in an analytical way, which consists most of our deadlines in office work ><
Cool product. Congrats on launch. Wil def explore it soon to understand better about it.
Best wishes on launch 😄
@whatshivamdo Cool! will always looking forward to your feedback^^
@whatshivamdo Thanks! would love to hear from you!
@whatshivamdo Thank you so much!!! Let me know if you have any questions when trying it.
@jackinlearning96 @xwang146 @mengqi_jin Numbers lose their meaning fast when they get copied between files. Making the context travel with the number is a clever idea. Nice Launch.
@harshyadav Thank you so much!! Yes this problem troubles many people in different industries, that's why we want to solve it with DeepCell!
Converting back to native xlsx and pptx is what makes this workable for teams that live in Office. Does an edit made after export find its way back into the .deepcell file?
@neerajnathany yes, we can convert to workable files (ppt/doc/xlsx) files now, and your idea is exactly in our feature roadmap^^ will be launched every soon!
@neerajnathany good question! right now our agent will help identify the differences and write back, and we are developing plugins and roundtrip tool to automatically compare the difference. It will be live very soon.
@neerajnathany Yes! We're working on this feature right now! I'm so glad to know that we're building on the actual important features to the users. Appreciate your sharing very much.
@xwang146 thanks Jack, Mengqi and Amy! having the agent spot the differences and write them back already covers a lot, the automatic roundtrip will be really nice for teams passing files around 🙌
@xwang146 @neerajnathany Thank you for your feedback! If you are interested, it would be grateful that you can leave us your email address so that once we update the feature covering the automatic roundtrip we can send it to you^^
Our features for individual professionals are also live now, and feel free to use them without any subscription^^
@neerajnathany Sure! Currently the launched features are mostly for single-person's use, but in our roadmap we eventually want to make it smoothly being passed in the teams!
we do a monthly support report every month (ticket volume, response times, CSAT, plus a short write-up and a few slides for leadership). could I drop in a fresh CSV export from our helpdesk each month and have everything update, or would I have to rebuild it every time?
@mark_carungay just drop the new csv, deepcell will get it done with where each numbers come from and quick cheat sheet of what may be questioned by leadership
@mark_carungay Yes that's exactly the situation we want to help with using DeepCell, so you don't have to rebuild things every time. Feel free to try out the product!
@mark_carungay Yes, just drop in a fresh csv and will have everything update
Last time a number in the plan changed I had to fix the sheet and then hunt that same number in the writeup. If the model and the memo are one .deepcell file, does the sentence update or only the cell?
@mostafahosseini Yes, we update both the numbers and the sentence^^
@mostafahosseini yes, exactly, the number in the sentences or slides is updated directly (actually there is no concept of cell, as all numbers are embedded with meanings, we track the number by its meaning definitions)
@mostafahosseini In the architecture we have the semantic layer and logically connect the numbers and texts so the whole sentence update!
