I spent years in corporate jobs buried in spreadsheets, slide decks, and endless narrative reports. Doing deep, thoughtful analysis was supposed to be the core of the job. In reality, most of our energy was swallowed up by a maddening chore: keeping numbers consistent across formats.
A supplier slips a month, a forecast assumption moves, or a price changes and suddenly the actual thinking stops. You spend hours hunting down every single number across a financial model, a narrative memo, and a 40-slide deck just to update them by hand. By the time a deck reaches decision-makers, nobody can say what a number actually rests on, or if a link broke three formulas upstream. We weren't analyzing scenarios or making strategic calls we were acting as human copy-paste pipelines.
We built DeepCell to fix this at the root. Instead of fragmenting work across separate tools, a single .deepcell file holds your data models, narrative writing, and presentation slides all natively connected:
The cheat sheets are a really nice touch. Half the stress of a monthly report is being asked "where does this number come from?" in the meeting and not having the answer ready. Congrats on the launch, DeepCell team!
@umair_builds indeed, we suffered a lot from similar situations so we built the product! Thank you for your comments!
@umair_builds thanks! and deepcell would also prepare possible questions and answers, also with tracable numbers.
@umair_builds Thank you!! Yes that's the pain point we've seen on us and on other people in the everyday work. I'm so happy you feel that's a useful feature!!
Can I reuse last quarter's logic and only swap in this period's data, instead of rebuilding from scratch?
@mi_leeli yes, for sure! with one instruction, agent only need few commands to update as everything was inbuilt with it's period, status or logic.
@mi_leeli Yes that's exactly the situation DeepCell want to help with. We know that a lot of people are rebuilding things every week/month/year and this now can be solved with DeepCell!
Love the idea of updating content once and having related sections follow — how often do you still need a manual decision?
@jackruirui we agent will automatically scan relevant part and let you know whether if needed, not only the numbers but also the text and slides
@jackruirui It will auto-update the part that directly related to the part that you have changed. Sometimes there're relevant contents that's not directly linked but may need a change, you can always ask the agent to revise for you very quickly.
A number carrying its scenario and fact or forecast status is the part I like here. It makes the question “which version is this?” something the file could answer.
@oleksii_sekundant Yes! We actually apply the version control and git features in the file management. Based on this, we develop a new document format (.deepcell) to deal with system two problems^^Thank you!
@oleksii_sekundant thanks for trying and noticing the scenario and status details, actually they are one of embedded finance-oriented features that could relief office worker from their daily tasks.
@oleksii_sekundant Thank you! Yes version control is a common thing in the coding world now, however for the files that people use in other industries (finance, marketing, etc) they still deal with version controls all by hand. That's why we bring this new .deepcell file format which automatically record the versions of everything, especially numbers.
Congrats Mengqi, Jack and Amy on #1. The part about numbers carrying their own logic instead of cell refs caught my eye. When someone changes an assumption in the model, does the slide text that quotes that number update too, or does it flag the sentence for a human to reread?
@genedai we exactly do the both! We will show you the related updates and then you can approve them^^
@genedai Thank you for having the interests in our product!! Yes the slide text quotes that number update too! We believe that's very useful to our users. For some other related texts it may be flagged for a human to re-check.
@genedai thanks! Yes, not only side text, the charts, the documents, the logics and would remind you related content that may need updates.
Congrats on the launch! Linking spreadsheets, docs, and slides in one file is a problem a lot of us feel every week.
@jason_jiang333 Indeed, those problems really make us suffer as in our launching video without deepcell><
@jason_jiang333 Thank you!! Yes we feel that pain of people in different industries. It's not easy to link everything from the bottom, but we strongly believe it can benefit people everywhere once the problem can be solved, that's why we start on this journey!
@jason_jiang333 thanks, jumping across different windows is painful, even with AI, checking its result is painful too, so we tried to solve this from ground, so that we could solve to achieve traceable number and linked surfaces at file level.
Love seeing a productivity tool aimed at the "same change in every file" pain, not just another AI chat wrapper
@ysssss33 Thank you for the love!! Yes exactly we are hoping to solve the actual problem that's bothering people in the everyday work!
@ysssss33 We built this because we have really suffered from updating numbers or content across documents haha, so it would be also a great help to share DeepCell to your friends who might be suffering too ><
