It's a great and fun way to share your dock but I just feel like it's too much effort to just wanting to share your dock cause you need to download the app or run the code. I wish it could be done in the website itself!
@ilalamailaka that's a good point. We considered this approach, also thinking it would reduce friction for many users. We may return to do it. We did have a few concepts for a UI for allowing you to input which apps you have in your dock there in the website.
For our initial release we decided we only had capacity for one of the following: (1) a tool to scan your dock automatically or (2) the UI for allowing users to input their docks manually on the website. We weighed the pros and cons of each and went with 1. I'd be happy to get into more of the details behind the decision if you like.
